Round 1,2,3 and 4

So round one of Camp Gozo was awesome.  We had 24 beautiful girls.  And they were soo loveable.  They were cute and sweet and they were bombarded with hugs, which they received so openly.  Our director of our ministry here in Colombia was at the bus to pick up a girl and he told me that when they got back the girls were bouncing with joy and could not stop talking about camp and that he got so many hugs from the girls that went.  So our prayers about feeling the joy and love of their Father were answered 10 fold.  They were beaming with it.  Also a good friend of mine in Canada made salvation plan book marks and we split up in smaller groups to go over these book marks and this was a huge success with all 24 girls making a commitment to Christ….So it was two shot days of camp, but it was two days filled with love and joy and laughter and lots and lots of hugs.

So now we just have 20 days until we get into round 2,3,and 4.  This is where my life gets kind of crazy, but it is crazy worth it….

So June 20-23 boys 11-13
June 28-July 1 girls 11-12
And finally July 6-9 boys 14-18

But there is a lot to pray for before we get up and running….
I am still looking for speakers for all three camps, there are a coupe of people that I am waiting to hear back from.
Still need more staff as well, for all three camps
and finally we need more money… I did a quick budget and to run these three camps we need just over $9000, that sounds so crazy, but everything has gone up in price, and we have just over $4000.  I confess I did have a little freak out when I did the math but God always, always, always provides.  So need to freak out.  That being said if you want to sponsor a kid to go to camp (about $100 per kid but every little bit helps) you can go to msccanada.org and there are different ways to give and just put that its for Camp Gozo.

Keepin it real in Quito

Yo Yo Yo So I have arrived and I made it safe, other then my luggages coming the next day. I was delayed in Edmonton and Toronto so when I got to Colombia they rushed me and a few other passengers to the flight for Quito. I am staying with a family, in my house there is Mami, who is the grandma, Mampi, her daughter and Joanna the niece, she is about 17 years old. There is also another student from London named Bhavin and a Japenese girl just came yesterday...she is super cool. So if I am to be honest the first week was quiet hard. Language school was quiet overwhelming and I hadnt met anyone yet so I was feeling quiet lonely and missing all of you guys. I let the tears slip a couple times but that is just part if the experience. My teacher tells me that the first week is always the hardest and that in a month I will be speaking Spanish....that brings me some comfort. Fruit

*(names have been changes for privacy reasons)* Back into the swing of things again and I am super pumped for this year.   Remember the time that I was sharing how I felt that there was no visible fruit last year and how that was really discouraging to me, well a couple weeks ago God blessed me with being able to see some of His fruit from last year, some fruit after a year of tears and prayers.   As some of you also know that for birthdays I take the teen girls out for ice cream.   This is a good one on one time and just a time for them to get out and do something special.   First up every year is Maria.   Last year when I took her for ice cream, conversation was a little strained, a lot of her answers to my questions were just one word and lets be honest, there were a lot of awkward moments.   As this year rolled around first up again was my beloved Maria and we had an awesome time.   We laughed, we talked and she was really honest with my...

Boys Camp… Just a little late

When it’s been so long between blogs I always struggle with what to say, or what to share.   Sometimes it feels like so much has happened that I don’t even know where to start and sometime if feels like nothing has happened at all… I guess I will start with the boys camp that we had in November, which was forever ago I know, but I obviously procrastinated and haven’t shared how it went and when I was in Canada over Christmas a lot of you asked me about it. Well it was an adventure.   We only had about 12 boys, which  was a nice small group.   I was really tired and worn out by the time November rolled around, so it was perfect and a more relaxed camp, well for the most part….
