All the time

Again it has been awhile since I last wrote and my life has continued to be crazy.  As some of you know I was an illegal immigrant for few days, was given 30 days to leave Colombia.  Pretty crazy adventure.  For some reason I had in my head that my visa expired on September 8th but it actually expired on September 1st.  So by the time I realized I was already illegal for 3 days.  I had to pay a fine and was given 30 days to leave the country.  I work with four Venezuelans from the city and as I was getting ready to leave there was a family here from Venezuela visiting and it worked out that I could travel with them.  I flew to the boarder town Cucuta then did the whole walk across the boarder thing and then it was a six-hour drive to the town of Merida.  I was so thankful that I had a family to do the boarder crossing with because I probably would of sat on the side of the road and cried.  I was really blessed in Venezuela; I spent half of my time with the family I traveled with and half the time with my friend’s family.  I was very well taken care of and very spoiled.  My friend comes from a lower class family and they were so hospitable and so very proud of their son, brother, nephew, cousin and uncle.
I wouldn’t be lying if I said that it has been a challenging last couple of months.  But one thing that God has been teaching me is about His goodness and how He is always good and about how His goodness never changes.  Amidst expired visas He is good, amidst tears of frustration He is good, amidst discouragement He is good, amidst walking in the desert, He is good.
So I am incredibly thankful for a God who is good, a God who is good all the time.
