Big Fat Huge Blessing

So I tiny little update before I get into the story of the title of this blog.  My schedule has changed a little bit this year since my girls have graduated and aren’t coming to the school four times a week.

So this year I have an extra day a week to do camp stuff, and still give my girls some support and help them with the things they need to do for their missions school (updates a little later on in this blog) and hopefully can find time to start looking at some land for camp…. CRAZY…
And two days a week I am up in Cazuca (the slums area where I was and still am on Friday’s), helping with a teen girls group (a lot of these girls have come to camp in the past).  This has been a lot of fun.  Over the past few weeks we have been going over the Easter Story.  So that has been my life that past few weeks.

Now unto my girls.
The one that has been working has already saved up $200, which is HUGE, for the population I work with, to save up $10 is huge.  But she has been working really hard and saving.  The plan for her is to leave in April and we are still far away from what she needs to go, so if you are interested in helping her out please email me at napoleanishot@gmail.com and I can give you more information.

Another one has started to work in the school where I was last year and she will get paid for it has she is under age it has been hard for her to find work elsewhere.  The school she wanted to go to in Argentina hasn’t responded to her so we have been back to square one for finding a school.  She may have to do one in Colombia because her dad might not sign for her passport (he sometimes gives us trouble) but I will keep you updated on her as well.

And rumor has it that Esperanza doesn’t want to do a school anymore, she feels all that money is better spent on something else.  She has not said this to me and we are going to meet up after Easter break so I will try to find out what’s what and what’s really going on.  Again please keep her in your prayers.  She’s the one who’s mother died in October and she has been struggling, understandably so.

Camp prep is going well and camps and buses are all booked for this year and now it’s just time to get busy planning.  First camp is May 21-22 for 8-10 girls.  The kids up in the slum are so excited and keep asking me when I am going to hand out the forms.  Their excitement just makes me that much more excited.

So here comes the part of my big, fat, huge blessing.  As some of you know, and for those of you who don’t, one of my very best friends for over 20 years (Lori West, now Loius) is a missionary in Haiti.  Well our times back in Canada never coincide so it has been over two years since I have seen her and I have never met her son who will be three in April.  Pretty crazy right.  So Sunday night I wrote on her FaceBook wall how I miss her but flights are just to expensive to go and visit.  Well one of her friends saw that (I have never met this women) and wrote me on Monday and told me that she would like to pay for my flight to Haiti to go see Lori.  CRAZINESS.  So Sunday I am flying down to Haiti for my easter week to see Lori.  How crazy is that.  I am so excited and still get a little teary when I think about how crazy this is and how excited I am.  Mostly I get tear thinking about my Father in Heaven and how much He loves us and just wants to shower us with blessings, and how He always knows exactly what we need.  I know that for both Lori and I this is just perfect timing and just what we both need.  And as Lori wrote on her wall He is a good good Father, it’s just who He is, can’t be anything else.
